Education
ÍSÍ organizes various courses and seminars for leaders, coaches, etc. in relation of finance, education, administration and general health care.  Also, various brochures and educational material is published by or with the support from the ÍSÍ for distribution to the clubs and associations.

ÍSÍ has, for the last few years, organized training courses for coaches via internet. This way of teaching is a great addition to our educational system, especially in the light of distances between places in Iceland.

 
Fyrirmyndarfélag ÍSÍ – Quality Project

The year 2003 the ÍSÍ started a project named “ Fyrirmyndarfélag ÍSÍ “, which aims to increase standards and quality of the work within the clubs. High demands are for higher ecucational level of trainers and coaches, especially within in children and youth sports.  To become a “ Fyrirmyndarfélag ÍSÍ” a club or a division within a club must fulfill some quality standards within it´s work.   The title “Fyrirmyndarfélag ÍSÍ  “ is given for four years periode and is evaluated several times during the periode.  The clubs can use the title, it´s logo and materials to help them seeking for more financial support from the communities and is a stamp of a certain quality and professional work that can attract athletes and parents to the club.

Over 100 clubs and divisions are now registered as “Fyrirmyndarfélag ÍSÍ”.

This project has been constantly growing and a big success.
