Antidoping
In the year 2009 the Doping
Control Committee carried out 183 doping tests in 18 sports.
55% of the doping tests were taken during competition. One test
proofed to be positive.
At the General Assembly of the ÍSÍ, in April 2009, special Anti-Doping Statutes were ratified.
The Doping Control Committee organized the anti-doping control at the 2009 IPC European Swimming Championship which were held in Reykjavik, Iceland in October 2009. A total of 46 tests were taken during the Championship.
The ÍSÍ is working under WADA – World Antidoping Code. Iceland has ratified the European Convention on Anti-Doping in Sport and the UNESCO Convention.
